The Problem: |
| New company moving into a brand new office space. Currently, new company does not have a server for common file sharing and for storing email. Employees need to access files and email from home and on the road. Computers need protection from the internet and viruses. |
The Analysis: |
| New space does not have existing Internet or LAN connections. Needs wireless network for 2000 sq ft with secure authentication, single username and password to simplify user access to secure resources throughout the network. A firewall is needed for protection from intruders on the internet. VPN is needed to provide secure access to network resources. Employees need access to a common printer to share and print to. |
The Solution: |
**Radius authentication offers the use of a single username / password to access network wide resources. |
The Benefit: |
| Now employees can check their email and work remotely while accessing network resources such as files and printers, share calendars and contacts, they can also work with confidence knowing that they are protected from internet prowlers, hackers, viruses and malware. Faxing made easy now because employees can receive and send faxes from their computers. With the use of Active Directory and Radius authentication, user now have only one username and password to access all resources like wireless network, VPN access and email. |
The Problem: |
| Salesmen do not have a means of demonstrating their product. Servers are very slow and out of hard drive space. Servers are stuffed in a small cluttered closet. |
The Analysis: |
| All of the servers are actually old PCs that are running server software, including email and file sharing. Servers are on a bakers rack in a small closet using UPS systems designed for small PC’s. This closet is on the second floor of the office which warms up considerably in the summer. Does not have an additional server with the necessary minimum specs to install Demo of product and they not have the necessary equipment to put the Demo server on the internet. |
The Solution: |
|
The Benefit: |
| The new servers provide an incredible boost in performance over the old ones. The new email system provides a wide variety of access and integration into today’s new mobile devices and technologies. Now that the new Oracle Demo servers are in the DMZ and accessible from the internet, salesmen close more deals in less time. Salesmen, in some cases, don’t even have to travel because the client can actually log into a specifically designed environment right from their office while on a conference call. The new equipment stays cool because of the new cooling system installed in the newly expanded server closet. Server closet is clean, neat and organized and all servers are centrally managed from the rack server console. |
The Problem: |
| Existing customer needs to move to a larger space with minimal downtime to servers, email and remote access. |
The Analysis: |
| Prior tenant in new space took all networking equipment except for the wiring hanging from the ceiling. New space has more than triple the network connections than the existing office. Client wants to move on a weekend. |
The Solution: |
|
The Benefit: |
| By taking a proactive approach getting the new network up and running prior to the move, the client experienced minimal down time to email and remote access. Now the servers and other equipment are in a clean and clutter free room with wire management raceways. Internal and external networks were up and running 1 hour after the move. |
The Problem: |
| Employees need equal access to enter new information into and view existing records from the manufacturing product quality database. Company needs a way to create and track serial numbers for each product manufactured. |
The Analysis: |
| All employees have to write down important quality assurance data to be entered into the database and pass it on to the warehouse supervisor, where the warehouse supervisor has to manually enter this data through a MS Access application. This process leaves a lot of room for error and the Q/A data typically takes 3 - 4 days to be entered, due to his overwhelming workload. Sales department cannot access the database directly and has to wait 2 -3 days for data requests to be returned. |
The Solution: |
|
The Benefit: |
| All employees have the ability to access the server via a username and password challenge. Employees can now enter quality assurance data directly into the QA database instantly , this provides the ability for access to real-time data by any employee from the Sales department. The warehouse manager can now focus his efforts on other responsibilities making him more efficient. Remote employees can access the same data via a VPN connection. But, the best part is that the company did not have to spend dime on user licenses, saving the company an enormous amount of money compared to the other applications. |
